Covid brought long dark days of aloneness and longing. Nothing seemed bright any more as I yearned to see my granddaughter and daughters. To while away the hours and bring some colour into my life I began a project with dried leaves. I imagined the fun we would have kicking up the Autumn leaves when we were all re-united and the colours brought me joy at a difficult time for everyone.
'Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.'
Gathering Leaves Robert Frost
